More Press and Back to Work

Last week Cooper stayed home with his camera to catch some Cooper on Desk Photo 1 cropsunshine while Michael and I headed to Chicago to see the unveiling of his new Cooper: Photographer Cat exhibit at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Cooper’s exhibit will be on display until April 11, 2010 – so if you’re going to be in Chicago between now and then be sure to check it out! And tell them Cooper sent you.

In other fun Cooper news – this week he appeared in the Loyola Phoenix Newspaper in Chicago. Writer, Caitlin Furlong says “An art analyst may feel silly dissecting the pictures taken by a cat, but it’s hard not to find artistic value in this unintentional artist’s photographs.”

We had an exclusive interview with the cat blog, LoveMeow.com where they introduce Cooper as “the amazing cat photographer”. They also attended the opening day of Cooper’s new Chicago Exhibit and posted a great article about it. Blogger, Amy B. says “It was so much more vivid and wonderful seeing them up close. The abstract feel of the photographs, the colors and the lighting seem to be the work out of a highly skilled photographer, but what I am still dumbfounded about is these works of art came from a cat. They put me in a completely different perspective of how it is like to see the world in the eyes of a cat.” LoveMeow will be doing a special Cooper magnet giveaway sometime soon – stay tuned for more details on that!

Wondering what Cooper’s Chicago Exhibit looks like? Here’s a short video of opening weekend at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

Cooper has also recently passed a big milestone on his Facebook page – now boasting more than 4,000 fans! What a fun way to connect with people from all around the world. If you’re not a fan yet – you should be! There’s a link in the right hand column of this page.

A photo of roses or just the thorns?

Cooper lurks in a neighbor’s rose bushes – perhaps he was worried about the “roses and thorns” reviews of his Chicago exhibit.

Reaching for the sky

Cooper reaches for the last rays of sunshine before the Seattle rain returns for the season.

Cooper is currently curled up and purring on Michael’s lap as they work on a new video. Cooper is trying to influence us to include more “butt-rock” in the music choices. He’s obviously a very confused feline.

I just love your weblog! Really wonderful stuff, COOPER!

  2. Super-Duper site! I am loving it!! Will come back again – taking you feeds also, Thanks.

Thank you for sharing Cooper’s talents with the world! I care for kitties on the Humane Society euthanasia list and foster them to find loving homes. This week we lost three very very sick little kittens and I realized I took it extra hard because the kitten died in my arms on the anniversary of my beloved River’s death. I always meant to get Ruver to walk thru tuna juice mixed with watercolor to make his own painting but he died before I had the chance. I still mourn his passing and wish I had known he could have worn a camera like Cooper! I’m a photographer like you and would love to try mounting a camera on my philandering kitty. Is this camera an available item and would you object to allowing others to enjoy living photographically thru their cats like you do? It would mean a lot and I would do it in my River’s memory! Thank you!
